With this in mind we have designed a solution based around an easy to scan barcodes to enable constant updates and messages being set to the customer keeping them up to date on where a bouts in the system their laptop is.
This is a vast improvement on our current system which requires the client to log in daily to track your laptop to see if/when there has been an update via email as soon as an update happens.
Updates include:
Scan when box is sent
scan when received
Scan when
engineer has started testing
Scan when engineer has finished testing
Scan
when at account ready for payment
Scan when cheque has been posted and order
is completed.
The client will receive emails at every stage.
There will also be a backend stock management process to enable us to know
what stock we have on hand at any time.
A new database system based on sql
server 2008's engine to make sure that the data integrity stays constant through
out.
If that wasn’t enough we are also migrating onto our own dedicated
server, based in a large data centre which should show up the improvements in
the database and make navigation of the site extremely fast.
All this work means when you sell a laptop its handled in the most advanced way possible.
